Dead Confederate - Sugar
An interesting band: actually coming out of the Grunge (at or below this reference, so they released their debut only in 2008), the five friends from Atlanta, Georgia have , now Athens, Georgia (Aha!), their sound Thus, by influences from the guitar music of the recent past, enriched to a kaleidoscope of '90s reminiscences is born! The title of this plate is delicious Sugar (so a 90 band ...) and adjusts the Überstzung: Sugar = sugar! The opening track is pure homage to My Bloody Valentine, followed by songs that are inspired not only by their role models, but rather could also originate from the pens of the original: Nirvana, Mudhoney, early Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo and Dinosaur Jr. their long-haired grau-bzw.weiß-/aber definitely mastermind J Mascis and the same prominent guest musicians of this little jewel is ten tracks full! The fifth left in Sugar, "By Design", I had repeated incredulously realize that this is not Radiohead to Pablo Honey / The Bends / OK Computer-times, which still had a track over and these are then transferred to Dead Confederate . But enough of the comparisons: it creates the band to make it all their own thing! Tapes' N'Tapes - Outside
new and third album by the band from Minneapolis. Helgi Jonsson - Blindfolded

Country-biased four-song release of the Dum Dum Girl, yes I think the parallel to Siouxsie & The Banshees, Patti Smith next shoegazer influences à la Spacemen 3 Remember also to The Pretenders. The four songs that the California all-girl group presented here can be proud of. A highlight is certainly the cover of the Smiths classic "There's A Light That Never Goes Out".
